Success for Sanket and Kedar of D.Y. Patil Technical Campus in Sports Competitions

Sanket Vyavahare and Kedar Shinde of the D.Y. Patil Technical Campus have achieved remarkable success by securing second place—Sanket in Powerlifting and Kedar in Bodybuilding. The Shivaji University Inter-Departmental Sports Competitions, organized under the aegis of the Kolhapur Divisional Sports Council, were held at Shri Shahaji Chhatrapati College, Kolhapur. In these competitions, Sanket Vyavahare—a third-year Computer Science student at the college—clinched second place in the Powerlifting event within the 93 kg weight category. Similarly, Kedar Shinde—a student pursuing a postgraduate degree in Business Management—secured second place in the Bodybuilding competition. Both Sanket and Kedar received guidance from the Gymkhana Head, V.B. Utale.

Talasande The grand technical festival, ‘Quantum 2K26,’ concluded with great enthusiasm at the D. Y. Patil Technical Campus, Talasande. Serving as an inspiring platform for students in the fields of engineering and technology, the event witnessed the participation of approximately 1,200 students from over 50 colleges across the state. Through various competitions, students showcased an exceptional display of their technical skills. The event was inaugurated by Dr. S. R. Pavaskar, Director of the Technical Campus, and Mr. Mayur Kalani, owner of VMK 3D Studio. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pavaskar remarked, "The ‘Quantum 2K26’ festival will serve to foster technology and innovation among students. It acts as an excellent platform for nurturing student creativity. Those students who place their faith in hard work are bound to achieve success."

D. Y. Patil Technical Campus Wins Kabaddi Tournament Championship — Competition Held Under Shivaji University's Lead College Initiative

Talasande: In the Lead College Divisional Kabaddi Tournament, organized under the aegis of Shivaji University, the team from D. Y. Patil Technical Campus, Talasande, clinched the championship title in the boys' category. The final match was a spirited contest between two teams: D. Y. Patil Technical Campus (Talasande) and Tatasaheb Kore College. In this match, the boys from the Technical Campus secured the championship victory with a scoreline of 25 against 17. The team received expert guidance from the Head of the Gymkhana, Mr. V. B. Utale. Dr. Satish Pavaskar, Director of the Technical Campus, congratulated all the members of the winning team. He emphasized that it is essential for students to participate in outdoor sports alongside their academic studies, as this fosters the development of various qualities such as team spirit, leadership skills, and physical fitness. He remarked that the victory achieved by their team is truly commendable, adding that their institution would always remain committed to striving towards cultivating a competitive spirit among its students.

Talasande – The Research Center at D. Y. Patil Technical Campus, Talasande, has successfully developed a ‘Smart High-Voltage Switching Unit’ utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. This system enables safe high-voltage switching via a mobile application, requiring no direct human intervention. Prof. Arif Shaikh developed this unit under the guidance of Dr. S. R. Pavaskar, Director of the Technical Campus.
